Opt-In Consent

Each spring and fall semester, Tennessee’s 2-year and 4-year colleges and universities collaborate to notify transfer students if they are eligible to receive their Reverse Transfer associate degree. Here’s how that process works, and what you can expect during different times of the year.

Pre-semester Start

  • Your 2-year school uploads courses into the Reverse Transfer System software (RTS) and reviews course equivalencies.
  • Your 4-year school creates and uploads an eligible student list into RTS.

JANUARY (SPRING CYCLE)

JUNE (FALL CYCLE)

Notification to Opt-in

An invitation to opt-in to Reverse Transfer is sent to your 4-year institution email from [email protected]. You will also receive additional reminders to opt-in.

JANUARY (SPRING CYCLE)

AUGUST (FALL CYCLE)

Institutions Load Transfer Student List and/or Course History

When you opt-in, your 2- and 4-year institutions are given permission to share your transcript and upload transfer course histories and equivalencies.

FEBRUARY (SPRING CYCLE)

SEPTEMBER (FALL CYCLE)

Degree Audit Starts

Your 2-year school accesses the Simulated Degree Audit results, downloads student course histories, and enters outcomes in RTS.

MARCH (SPRING CYCLE)

OCTOBER (FALL CYCLE)

Deadline to Determine Degree Outcomes

If you have earned your associate degree, your 2-year institution will contact you and your 4-year school.

MAY (SPRING CYCLE)

DECEMBER (FALL CYCLE)

Find Out About Your Degree

You’ll receive an email from your 2-year school about the status of your degree.
