Sponsored by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC), Path to College events are designed to help promote a college-going culture in elementary, middle, and high schools and provide increased insight into the college-going process as students approach high school graduation.
TN Path to College designated schools hosted all four TN Path to College Events and completed post-event surveys by the stated deadlines. Congratulations to this year’s winners!

In addition to equipping students and families at the elementary, middle, and high school level with vital resources to understand college options and benefits, Path to College events are cross-walked to the TN School Counseling Standards and provide students with the opportunity to master a variety of standards.
The goal of this event is to build excitement and knowledge around the college application process at all grade-levels and provide every graduating senior with an opportunity to apply to college. Counselors can complete the TN College Application and Exploration Month survey here.
Originally designed for high school juniors and their parents, this after-school event provides crucial information about college search, applications, and financial aid processes. For younger students and parents, college planning includes resources for career exploration and planning for the student’s future. Counselors can complete the TN College and Career Planning Night survey here.
Created with the goal of increasing statewide FAFSA-filing rates, TN FAFSA Frenzy is a statewide campaign to encourage and support seniors filing their Free Applications for Federal Student Aid applications. At elementary and middle schools, students can participate in TN FAFSA Frenzy by exploring financial literacy concepts and the basics of financial aid. Counselors can complete the TN FAFSA Frenzy survey here.
This is a school-wide celebration that recognizes and commends seniors in the community who have committed to enroll in some form of postsecondary education. Elementary and middle schools can get involved by joining in the high school celebrations or signing graduation pledges of their own. Counselors can complete the TN Signing Day survey here.

Priority Registration is open from April-August each year so that we can make certain your school is receiving the materials you need to host the Path to College events.
