TN PATH TO COLLEGE EVENTS
TN Path to College events, sponsored by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) with funding from GEAR UP TN, are designed to help promote a college-going culture in elementary, middle, and high schools and provide increased insight into the college-going process as students approach high school graduation.
Each fall, we send registered schools a FREE resource mailing of stickers and posters to support your college and career planning efforts. Follow this link to register your school for Path to College events and resources. The priority deadline for registration and our TN Path to College resource mailing is September 1, 2026. We will continue to accept registrations and send follow-up mailings through October 31, 2026.
In addition to equipping students and families at the elementary, middle, and high school level with vital resources to understand college options and benefits, Path to College events are cross-walked to the TN School Counseling Standards and provide students with the opportunity to master a variety of standards.
TN COLLEGE APPLICATION AND EXPLORATION MONTH
The goal of this event is to build excitement and knowledge around the college application process at all grade-levels and provide every graduating senior with an opportunity to apply to college. Counselors can complete the TN College Application and Exploration Month survey here.
TN COLLEGE AND CAREER PLANNING NIGHT
Originally designed for high school juniors and their parents, this after-school event provides crucial information about college search, applications, and financial aid processes. For younger students and parents, college planning includes resources for career exploration and planning for the student’s future. Counselors can complete the TN College and Career Planning Night survey here.
TN FAFSA FRENZY
Created with the goal of increasing statewide FAFSA-filing rates, TN FAFSA Frenzy is a statewide campaign to encourage and support seniors filing their Free Applications for Federal Student Aid applications. At elementary and middle schools, students can participate in TN FAFSA Frenzy by exploring financial literacy concepts and the basics of financial aid. Counselors can complete the TN FAFSA Frenzy survey here.
TN SIGNING DAY
This is a school-wide celebration that recognizes and commends seniors in the community who have committed to enroll in some form of postsecondary education. Elementary and middle schools can get involved by joining in the high school celebrations or signing graduation pledges of their own. Counselors can complete the TN Signing Day survey here.
Path to College
School Designation
