The Tennessee HOPE Access Grant is established and funded from proceeds of the state lottery and awarded to entering freshmen who are enrolled at an eligible postsecondary institution within sixteen (16) months after graduating from a TN eligible high school.
Four-Year Institutions: Up to $1,250 per full-time enrollment semester, including summer
Two-Year Institutions: Up to $875 per full-time enrollment semester; including summer
Be classified as a Tennessee resident pursuant to TCA 49-8-104
*Grade point average means a grade point average on a 4.0 scale calculated with additional internal quality points awarded for advanced placement, honors or other similar courses according to the Uniform Grading Policy adopted by the State Board of Education.
The Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation (TSAC) will no longer accept new applications for the HOPE Access Grant after September 1, 2021.
Apply by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), available at www.fafsa.gov. Applications must be received by September 1, 2021.
All attempted hours after high school graduation, including remedial and developmental studies courses are included in the total attempted semester hours.
A student may receive the HOPE Access Grant until the first of the following terminating events:
Five (5) years have passed from the date of initial enrollment at any postsecondary institution
